HELLO & WELCOME TO THE HOME OF RAKASTA BENGALS & EGYPTIAN MAUS
My husband, Mark and I are small breeders of pedigree Bengal cats with the GCCFI & TICA registered prefix of 'RAKASTA'. Showing the cats is all part of breeding, if the cat enjoys it, then so do we. We are situated near the beautiful villages of Killaloe & Ballina on the tranquil shores of Lough Derg on the - Co. Clare / Tipperary border, Southern Ireland.
Our first Bengal joined us 8 years ago and we were hooked, we fell in love with this fabulous feline. As people will often tell you, they are addictive ~I didn't believe them...........at first! Cleo the Egyptian Mau joined us in 2008 quite unexpectedly but has been a joy to be owned by!
We are breeding for temperament as well as 'type'. Socialisation is very important & our kittens are used to other cats, children & dogs & the hubbub of a busy household. Kittens are born & raised in the house, usually in our bedroom, where they stay for the first few weeks before moving to the kitten nursery. They receive plenty of cuddles, love, attention and the best of food. Strong healthy kittens with wonderful loving affectionate temperaments are our priority. Breeding from top quality lines. Our cats will never become breeding machines and will be retired at an early age to enjoy the rest of their lives. Our girls are indoor cats, with access to an outdoor run for fresh air & exercise. Our boys have their own heated apartments with outdoor runs, companion and of course visiting girls ! Kittens are ready to go to their new homes no earlier than 13 weeks. They will be vaccinated, wormed, vet checked, litter trained & registered with the GCCFI on the 'non-active' register. Please have a look around the site & feel free to contact us for more information or just a Bengal / Mau chat ! Congratulations to Miss Berenice Ryan & her success with 'Rakasta Mr Bojangles', gaining 'Best of Variety Foreign Exhibit' at SABCCI show in Dublin'07 and becomming 'Grand Premier' at the Supreme show at the RDS in Dublin recently.
